I’ve made a pact with myself. Gone will be the days wearing gym clothes or jean shorts all day (or whatever shirt was left on the chair overnight…ouch). I’ve promised myself to spend at least half as much time focusing on what I wear, as I do on interiors. Instead of carousing fabric stores online at night, I should be buying clothes!!! I’m off for a trip for two weeks, and need to look appropriate for meetings…so I decided to start with some last minute shopping in my favorite store – my closet. I wish it was twice as big, with room for a chic Kelly Wearstler wallpaper. But it’s still one of my favorite places in the house. I’m not really sure why?

How many of us haven’t spent endless house staring at our closet, wondering what to wear, while complaining about some part of our body? I’m not sure what age that behavior started. Having a nice, organized closet is something everybody loves. Whether it’s a small closet, or a room in your house….make it nice. You will spend hours there!!!

Here’s an old refinished armoire with part of the door taken out for easy viewing.

A fun wall papered nook. No confusion about whose territory this is.

    A neat, nice green closet.

Aerin Lauder’s enviable closet. I could live in there and be happy. That desk is is fantastic!! Who makes that? Does anyone of you know??

The closet can be your office, your dressing room, your artists retreat…Did you see the Joan Rivers movie? She paints in her closet!!! What do you do in yours?

Just like men have their “man caves”, women can have a room just for themselves. This is Olivia Wilde’s “wild” closet.

    Kelly Wearstler’s closet.

A wallpapered room just for you and your things. The best closet is the well edited closet. I try to follow the rule to give away everything I haven’t worn in two years.

Love Nicky Hilton’s glamorous closet. The black and white Dorothy Draper inspired closet doors are impossibly chic. Hmm…maybe in my next house.

Woodson & Rummerfield’s design is perfect for a pop princess. But having that many shoes would seriously stress me out. I could never decide which ones to wear.

    Cool closet doors.

This is a regular room used as a glamorous dressing room and closet. Would you dare taking a whole room in your house as a closet? It’s tempting…

Tory Burch chevron patterned closet. I bet she knows why she loves her closet….
