With the internet, and the  ability to work from home, the “home office” is becoming increasingly popular. What seemed like a luxury a few years ago,  is  for many a necessity today.  I’m personally in desperate need of creating a home office, instead of  keeping things all over the house!   While working on launching LiveLikeYou, and being a single parent, I’m working more and more from home.

Here is just a simple Parsons desk set up in a corner of a super chic room.

I love this space!!  Green/blue grass cloth wall covering and silver light fixtures, with light blue lacquered desk. I wish I could be as organized as this room looks.  I’m afraid not…

I like designer Ruthie Summers feminine office. A color in the back of the book case is a good idea to make something different or more interesting.

You can place the desk directly next to a book case for fun, or if you’re lacking wall space.

Or like in this small apartment, divide the space in the room so you get what feels like an office. In a New York apartment I once lived in, the walk in closet was large so I turned that in to a mini office.  You have to do what you can.

I always prefer to place desks so you can look at something, out a window, in to the room, instead of the wall if possible.  This looks like a vintage desk that’s been painted. I could work here.
